Yard Sale Frenzy.

For those of you who don't know, my hubby and I bought a new house a little less than a year ago. Until this point, I really didn't know that home decor items were so expensive, even if you primarily shop at T.J. Maxx and Marshalls!

So, I obtained a new hobby this summer...Yard Sales! At first, I was a little intimidated about bargaining with people and did several "drive bys." But as time went on, I started to get pretty good at it! I even brought the husband and dog along; however, most of the time they waited patiently in the car for me!

I just wanted to share some of the GREAT deals I was able to get this summer...

Christmas Wreath from Restoration Hardware- $3
I think I'll need to add some pizazz!

Aside from the color, this dresser is a great height and is solid wood!
Dresser- $10
I'm thinking and ivory color w/ an antiqued finish.

Pottery Barn Picture Frame- $2
This little thing is so cute, and it was brand new in the box!

I'm sure you recognize those red clearance stickers!!!
Target Wall Sconces- $2/each
Originally $19.99/each

End Table- $5
I haven't decided what color I'm going to paint it, yet!

Bathroom Light Fixture- $3
Do you know how much these stupid things cost at Lowe's or Home Depot?
I thought it would be perfect for our master bath.

Pottery Barn Tray- $2
I agreed to buy this little beauty before even noticing the sticker on the bottom.
Retail: $69

Pottery Barn Shams (2)- $1
Although my husband doesn't really care for the pattern, I thought I'd put them
in the guest bedroom. Then, he doesn't have to see them!!

Faux flowers- $1
Now, I just need a vase to put them in.

Lamp Bases- $10 (set)
Now, I think I paid a little too much for these, but they originally were asking $10/each!

Baskets (2)- $4

Mosaic Lamp- $3

Glassware (24 pieces)- $5

Tower Fan w/remote- $3

Basket w/hinged lid- $4
This was a perfect size to hold my blankets in my living room!

I also thought of the husband too when I was hitting up the yard sales...

Paintball gun and gear- $10
I took a shot in the dark, but the gun retails for $100.

VT comforter- $5
I wouldn't have normally paid this much for it; however, it was a church rummage sale!

The Perfect Push-up- $1

Total Spent- $76

I had a BLAST this summer! It's funny how I was even willing to give up some sleep on Saturday mornings in order to not miss the deals! I can't wait for the fall sales! Is anyone else as excited as I am about an item they scored at a yard sale?

I LOVE yard sales. My husband thinks I'm crazy, but the deals are unbelievable. If you put the time in, you will always be rewarded with good finds!! You definitely got some great deals this summer!

And thanks for stopping by and checking out my bathroom renovation last week! I was a little worried about the tiles when we started out, but we just took a chisel and started to chip away from the corners in (on the floor) and from the top bullnose piece down (for the wall tiles). I'm not sure if time has loosened up the mortar or what, but they came up a lot easier than expected. Just rememember to wear a mask and protective glasses while you are doing it since it kicks up quite a bit of dust and remnants during the demo. Good luck with your bathroom!!! I really love your blog and will definitely be following your progress.

Hope this helped!

I love my husband, coca-cola, bargain shopping, Chick-fila and enjoy laughing A LOT! We are slowly working on home "projects," enjoying our BOXER, named Cooper, and getting ready to add another addition to the family!
