Manly Monday.

STOP YELLING!!

"Oh My Gosh, Watch It, Watch It!" Those are just some of the words that are yelled at me while driving with Kristen. Along with the yelling comes a hard stomp on the imaginary brake on the passenger's side floor board. "Kristen, I've got it under control! Besides, that car is like 30 ft. away from us." "I know, but I saw brake lights."

A backseat driver is defined as a vehicle passenger who is not controlling the vehicle and seems to be uncomfortable with the skills of the driver and/or wants to tutor the driver while the driver is at the wheel...AKA my wife!

Now if there is one thing that really drives me crazy, it's when Kristen freaks out while I'm driving. For 10 years, I've had a perfect driving record... that all went away one fateful morning about a month ago when I got caught running a red light. When Kristen would usually say, "You need to slow down." I would always rebuttal with, "Oh stop, I've never had a ticket or been pulled over." So, now she thinks she has a little bit of leverage.

So here's my question to all of the fine young women out there... do you yell and hit the imaginary brake or tightly grip the handle when your boyfriend/fiance/husband is driving? I mean when this happens, my blood pressure rises and my heart about jumps out of my chest. So WHY MUST YOU LADIES DO THESE KIND OF THINGS? I am not implying that all women are "backseat drivers." But, I've had my share of driving experiences w/ some women that freak out!

Until Next Time,
Josh

Welcome back, Josh! Actually my husband is the one who hits the imaginary brake! He rarely drives when we are together just because he drives like my grandma.. SLOW! I have never been in an accident but I do have four speeding tickets on my record all from the interstate. I agree, it does raise my blood pressure! Great post!

I definitely do this when my husband is driving. He doesn't pay attention as much as I would! I am constantly yelling at him and it pisses him off... but I'd rather not die!

That sounds like my parents when I am driving. My dad slams on an imaginary brake a lot. And the funny thing is that my mom does the same thing to my dad and it annoys him but then he does it to me.
